Recomendations?

Hi all, how goes.

I am new start class 2 upgrade from van and luton.

Since passing tests ive had a few offers , an induction and recently had an interview and due an interview/ assessment

The only delay has been waiting on replacement tacho first never turned up . Finally its here.

Before christmas i went to a company and spoke with the owner he pretty much said hes happy for me to start when tacho arrives give him a shout.

Money is ok not great but its local and hes willing to start me out on 7.5 t then work my way up to 18t + same rate general haulage

Since i had this meeting ive had an interview with a company that rents plant machinery everything from traffic lights , chain saws to spider cranes, cherry pickers and tippers and forklifts. I dont know alot in regards to machinery and i reckon they want someone who is enthusiastic about machinery . Ill hear back by monday… it involves a month of training with another driver they also provide there own training program for employees and out of house for working from heights and operating machinery so very niche side of the industry you obviously load the machinery onto the trailer bed and offload aswell and a 6 month probationary period . Hourly rate is alright 40+ hours a week overtime time and a half

And then im due an interview/driving assessment next week with a company willing to put “the right candidate” through the adr. They distribute heating oil, red diesel , kerosene. Its an 160 mile drive overal there and back 6 days a week £39k a year

Id love to do adr especially since it seems to be very difficult to get as a new start . Ive to meet the owner of the company next week who will have do the assessment It would be great to get out in a tanker and see how it goes .

But the general haulage company local is ready to go asap and start out 7.5

Theres a good chance i wont even get the adr or the plant machinery role .

What do you reckon. Wait out go adr and chance it but also 160mile daily commute 6 days a week and lose the local route with less pay by waiting (the guy gave me to monday to decide.)

Or ring the local route monday and start at less pay for mon to friday 20 miles away probably mid week start

I could end up with naff all if i wait for adr assessment

Grow the ■■■■ up and just start driving.

Fair go, the man’s asking experienced men for advice. If you can’t help him, say nothing.
For what it’s worth, from half a world away, the 160 mile commute will cost you too much in time and money.
