Recomendations please (eateries Nr godmanchester)

can anyone recomend a place close to godmanchester (Nr the somerfield cardinal place) that does half decent food.
wether it be greasy spoon, cafe, or pub resturant. Im passing thru the area next weekend and Im looking for some ideas for where I can stop off to eat

Trouble with Godmanchester is weight restrictions. Visited DHL there recently to find they have applied their surplus of yellow paint down the roads.
You have NightOwl, Alconbury about 30 mins up the road. At least you know you will be able to park there without plod or similar sticking unwanted paper on your windscreen. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

i used to stay at st peters ind est at huntingdon. where the a 14 exit is for the midlands and m1 turn to huntingdon and i think its 3rd roundabout turn right and it comes up on left theres a big tesco and cinama and pizza hut and its good.

been a couple of years since i was there.

i don’t think nightowl alconbury will be good, i am sure they shut at the weekends now.
you could try cambridge services, they now have a pizza hut and kfc as well as macdonalds and deli france.
peterborough services has a macdonalds and deli france.
if you dont mind going out your way a bit you could run down to baldock then along the a505 towards royston, there is a pub called the horse and groom on that road, you can get about 25 trucks on the car park and truckers most welcome, they do food and drink etc.
i can’t think of any other places open on a weekend.

Try the services at the junction of A1/ A14 ( Brampton Hut ). They dont charge for parking, the fuel shop is well stocked theres a Mc Burger and a pub that does food which is quite reasonable.

If you come out of cardinal park and go straight over the roundabout towards godmanchester there is a layby on the left and right hand side. there is a pub about 5 minutes walk into godmanchester.
Alternatively, go up to huntingdon, take the A141 around huntingdon, and turn right at tesco’s signed for St Peter’s Industrial estate. You can either park in Tesco’s car park (in the far right hand corner, it is a 24 hour tesco), or if you go down onto the industrial estate, there is a road that runs parallel on your left hand side which has a CCTV camera on it. You can then walk either up hill to KFC, MC Donalds, Franky and Bennie;s. Or Down hill and into town to a Chinese, indian or chip shop.
