There are a lot experiencing the same problems as you in THIS FORUM as well as this one.

welcome to the wonderful world of hgv driving. lol

ive got age and experience issues on my side.

This time of year is always quiet even without the “economic downturn”, this time last year (Jan to March) I was lucky to get 1 or 2 days a week so if you are getting 3 days you are doing well

reasons to be chearul. part one

not just the lorry driving industry :frowning:

Still cant get my breath at the government allowing the powerstation build at newark to employ 850 foreign worker for the 2 year contract.

UK workers not working = no tax being apid in + dole money to pay out. Also a lot send most of the money out of the country so it isn’t going into UK retail, distribution etc.

“But they are EU countries so they are within their rights to work here” - maybe if the EU were paying the dole bill and loss in taxes then they would have the right to work here.

Oh, I forgot, the EU are too busy chucking £350,000 at a god awful piece of art at their HQ.

Not only do we get this double loss due to being in the wonderful EU, but it costs us about £10 billion a year to be a member, we get about £6bn a year back. So we pay them £4bn a year so that we can lose out on jobs directly in construction, driving etc, indirectly through loss of retail, distribution jobs etc, tax into the system, dole out the system, benefits some of them get to send home etc etc

What really riles me is the fannies we elect bend the country over and and let the EU roger us - unprotected too :open_mouth:

Sorry, normal service will be resumed after a stiff drink

been in this industry for nearly 40 years and never seen it so bad
don’t know if it’s my age or what !!!
