Rear under run bars

hypothetical question. W&D set up , drop trailer and get a tug having no rear under run bar on the unit…who will carry the can ?

the under run bar on the prime mover just drops down once trailer is off.just held up by 2 retactalbe pins :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:
if you don’t drop it you are incharge so you carry the can :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

As wildfire said, it’s a moveable under-run bar so that you can couple up the drag unit, when you drop the drag unit, just have a look, you’ll see this sort of system

As you can see, pull the 2 levers that pop the pins out, move the bar down, push the 2 levers back in and you’re done

There are different styles, but all basically work the same.

Your boss.

Worst case scenario you and the boss, you for using and the boss for permitting.

If the drag isn’t uncoupled very often then a can or two of WD40 and a belly buster breakfast might be handy for lowering the bar after dropping the trailer.

cheers people

This ^^^

The wag n drags I’ve driven have all had under-run bars that can be dropped into position, so assuming that you’ve been trained on the wag n drag it’s your responsibility to drop them into place.

What sort of body work on the wag and drag, a tipper or skip for instance wouldn’t require one.
