Real ale

Picked up a nice Shropshire Lass In the garden centre today, just enjoying her now.

Quite bitter, but fruity too. 4.1abv made by Woods in Shropshire

I’m rather partial to Brewdog beers. Black libertine is fantastic. Jack hammer makes you ■■■■ your cheeks in, extremely hoppy.

Williams brothers do a lot of good ales. Often cheap in aldi!

Williams Bros stuff is good too. Ceasar Augustas is their best IMO. Its a lager IPA hybrid. Sainsburys sell a good selection of it. I delivered to their brewery in Alloa a few months ago, and despite me dropping some suttle hints, never even got as much as a free bottle from them.

Miserable gits

I could make a Jimmy Saville joke there but I wont.

Scrattocks ol bumsquirt - lovely drop, but you have to filter out the birds beaks and twigs through your front teeth to prevent choking on it.
Seriously though, I really enjoyed the various wheat beers when i worked in the fatherland. Not what you`d really categorise as real ale, but potent and quite chewy nonetheless.

The King Goblin is very nice. I’d describe it as a refined Hobgoblin. Got about half a pint left…

LOL

Actually, I’m wearing my Hobgoblin teeshirt at the mo :sunglasses:

I have a huge artwork piece above my fireplace by the guy who drew the Hobgoblin artwork. I also have a small piece behind the sofa. Ed Org, nice guy.

109LWB:
I also have a small piece

Don’t blame the beer for that.

Wadworths 6X being my home town (Devizes)
Theakstons Old Peculiar
Butcombe bitter (my dads favourite)
Bottled (never had draught) Fullers ESP (so probably doesn’t count)

Must be the cold then. :open_mouth:

I’ve actually convinced my wife that my interest and love in real ale is a hobby

Badgers golden glory

There’s a micro brewery near me & I have couple of kegs that hold 33 pints which they fill for £30 each, I have had some good stuff off them. I also buy grain & hops and brew my own

No particular favourites, just try a couple of something different whichever pub I’m in.

Also like to try different lagers, not the usual catpiss that’s on offer.

Was in a pub in Lockerbie during the week and had a couple of pints of schiehallion. First time I have seen it on draft and it was fantastic. Usually get bottled in most Scottish supermarkets. A great real ale/Lager

Love a good real ale, my favourite brew is Innis & Gunn. They often make different limited editions through the year. One of the latest being a Malt whiskey infused beer. :sunglasses: Sadly most of my friends don’t share the same passion for real ale but I’ve a couple mates who do!

I never ever get a hangover with real cask ale, must be because there’s no chemicals and gas in it like keg lager etc,I used to get stinking hangovers drinking lager

Just picked up one of these £14 from morrisons. :sunglasses: Thought it was a good find  Bit cheaper than going to the pub for a session!

Sadly wont be opened until next Saturday though!

Cheers

And don’t forget to put it somewhere to stand for at least 12 hours or all the sediment won’t settle.
I put a small book under the back so the tap is pointing down a little then you don’t get wastage.
Enjoy
