The first road test of the new Mercedes AXOR lightweight 8x4 tipper

insider.trucknetuk.com/viewtopic.php?t=1484

This truck is not in the UK yet, in fact my little bird at Mercedes UK HQ tells me today that they have only just ordered the first 20 from the factory for delivery to UK dealers :open_mouth:

he was also dumfounded that not only have TruckNet UK already got a road test published, but we have beaten many of the “Big Boys” in the printed media…

Chalk up one for the little guys eh

Cool, exellent scoop!

Merc made a good rugged tipper in the SK days, the v8’s were indestructible, but they were heavy. I drove a v6 6 legger on rollon bins for a while, powerfull motor, but the leylands were lighter. I did like the constructor.

Rikki! Two-timing. :unamused: Surely not. :astonished:

And with the 2012 Olympics coming to East London, I can see the potential for growth in this sector in relation to all the construction work that yet needs to be carried out.

Nice one.

It says Scania have the biggest market share, but apart from the yard next to us who have about 4 Scanias you seem to see mainly DAF and some badged as Fodens round here.
