Does anyone if adelaide cover pick ups under a normal policy and let you build up a no claims discount
Don’t know but try asking them - they’re very approachable
Yeah i was going to call tomorrow but just wondering if anyone knew
They wouldn’t let me insure a van for private use only
yeah they were not happy with me wanting to cover a pick up for private use

They let me insure my astra van with them
i have a Mitsubishi Shogun van, basically the same as the car but with no back seats and a mesh bulkhead, they wouldnt insure that or my previous Navara
Ill leave the hilux i was buying as to get cover else where is about 800 pound a year and would find it hard to get a no claims carried over
i have my car insured with Adelaide and my van insured with a company called E-van, i had 10 yrs ncb with Adelaide on my car and E-van mirrored it on the van bringing the cost down from £740 to £367, i had to get Adelaide to send me the proof of my NCB (which they werent happy about tbh) and send it to E-van and they then gave me the discount_

That sounds about right, renewal was over £500 when i sold it on, though that was with NFU, and they stopped offering normal private cover during my ownership, transferred me onto a commercial policy, not a great deal of difference except no cover for driving others’ cars on TPFT cover.
No telling with NFU (IMO the best insurer out there), you might find they come in with a stonkingly low quote, you just never know with them.
Direct Line offered it a little cheaper, i didn’t try a comparison site.
