Anyone on here drive from around South Wales area? Just intersted to see type of rates for class 1 or 2 really . Im on £9.64 at moment factory work and womdering wether il be taking a pay drop to start off when once I have passed.
Hourly rate wise - I’d say you will take a hit with most of the well known firms on their standard hourly rate.
Any agencies near you? You could probably get that sort of money self employed agency you might have to do weekends or food service work etc, you will struggle to get full time as a new pass, have a look around at general haulage companies in the area you may catch a break and get £7.50 a£9.00 full time, generally the decent payers are large companies paying £10 a £13 an hour but they would want 2 years experience etc or you could just sit on the licence until you’ve had it two years.

Is that for class 1 too■■? Also if i just sat out and waited wouldnt employers want two years of work history ■■
Class 1 rates class 2 minus 50p an hour or so typically, but most firms expect a class one holder even if they run both. Your more likely to get an assesment with a larger firm if you held the licence at least a year since it may well be a condition of the insurance. Work history could be requested for references doesn’t necessarily have to be a driving job though just to see if your reliable in regards to attendance sickness etc.
