Ratchet strap nicked out back of truck

One of our drivers the other day had his ratchet stap stolen from the back of his truck while in a secure loading area on a loading bay, and it was the fellow truck driver next to him :exclamation: :imp: our driver was stuck there while a replacment one was sent out for him as being all racks he had no way of securing the load.

secuirty looked on the camera’s and could clearly see the truck driver checking the coast was clear several times before taking it, and even checked to see if the cab was locked.

they rung his employer and he was tracked down and bought it back few hours later, i have no idea what that driver was thinking or what his explanation would of been.

would you really take somone elses ratched strap for what ever reason?

has anybody else had anything stolen from there truck while unloading?

Cruise Control:
and it was the fellow truck driver next to him

“Shock horror” :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

I suspect a lot of curtain “slashing” is done by “fellow” drivers.

Bad enough to think that other drivers would steel your equipment whilst you’re loading/unloading, but the fact that this jerk was dumb enough to do it in full view of a camera makes him look really stupid as well as a thieving [zb]

Lets hope he’s better at driving than he is at thieving :stuck_out_tongue:

No

I’m kind of worried about the “His ratchet strap” as in singular, surely your men don’t only have 1 strap :open_mouth:

Other guys a SOB for taking it too. Makes your blood boil all that downtime over a 10 quid ratchet :imp:

I was parked up empty in Dusseldorf about 3 years ago. Left back doors open. About 0300 in the morning, I felt the truck rocking and thought nothing of it. Got up in the morning and all my straps were gone. Barstewards. :open_mouth:

Ratchet straps are easy to sell cruise just check ebay or maybe one of his broke, could be a few reasons. A lot of companies get custom straps with their names on them because they ‘‘lose’’ so many. Crooks everywhere i tell thee.

What a planker. One of the very few times that I’ve read about security cameras actually helping a lorry driver.I hope the dipper is on here(doubt it) and reading this thread.I had 5lt. of oil stolen in Irun TIR park-totally my fault,as I’d left it secured,as in ‘it won’t fall off’ secure,on the catwalk. If you’re stuck, most drivers will help you out,so just ask!!Thank God the cab was locked.Opportunist grotbag :imp: :imp:

my thoughts exactly. i know wee ar in a recession but that takes the buiscuit. maybe he should carry a spare one incase the singular one broke or was genuinly lost. a profecional driver or what.

Moral of the story is unfortuatly TRUST NO ONE ! …

On a slightly different note, especially with “custom straps”
it does make me wonder if the strap had Tesco, asda etc written on then, would drivers care so much if those where stolen out of the trailers belonging to any of the large companies mentioned■■?

I used to know a guy that was proud of the fact that all his straps had …

“STOLEN FROM SALLY LINES”

printed on them.
thats why he was always late getting upstairs to the restaurant.

ps I miss that massive buffet you got on Sally ferries

Nothing wrong with the food on them Sally boats Chap  It must have cost them a fortune feeding drivers like that. I was down that way a week or to ago they’re doing the last tunnel so it will be dual carriageway all the way into the docks virtually, only 15 years too late

You’ve just reminded me, they used to have supermarket trolleys full of ratchets in Ramsgate port to push round to trailers that needed them. Anyone remember that or am I going mad?

Fly sheet

Some dirty lowlife once stole my 9kg fire extinguisher from my tanker whilst i was parked up at leicester forest east services :imp:

Had to wait for another to be brought out to me, and it put me behind for the rest of the week :imp:

Why do these T0553RS do this?
