Want to no what they are like to work for and wages

Never worked for Ramage,(never would either!) but the general consensus is that they are the bottom of the barrel. Every time I see a Ramage “shed on wheels” I cant help but shout out “You sad b***ard!”

The footy team isn’t much better! Now where is Robroy…

I thought they had a new fleet of mercs or a least some new space cabs who do you work for ?

Ok, I worked for them for a short while so this might help. It depends on what you want to do, they do tramping & 4 on 4 off. They aren’t the best payers, I think they’re on around £9ph for the 4 on/off shifts, they currently have 63/64 plate actros for this job. I quite enjoyed the job, running from the yard to Dhl prudhoe, pick up load for ASDA erith, tip there & on to ds paper mill at kemsley Sittingbourne, drop trailer & go park in morrisons rdc around the corner. After break go back & pick up loaded trl, take back to yard. Do that twice, with slight variations & that’s your week. The bad parts were having to do other work on return, or pick up a load from egger in Hexham, they lost a lot of drivers over this & I know they stopped it for a while. They will always try & get you to work on your 4 off so if you don’t want it tell them at interview.
People that haven’t worked there always slag it off but, at most jobs there’s good & bad, some companies are better & some are worse. You won’t know if it suits until you try.

Yeah you right there mate people always slag company’s off when they haven’t a clue

mite give them a ring and see if they do 4 on 4 off tramping

Says he who worked for Murray Hogg !!!

Not quite Ramage depths!

wouldn’t work for either of them!

As I’ve said before its whatever suits, both will have good & bad points. I’ve never worked for hoggs but I know a chap that tramps for them, loves it. Then again I heard nearly 30 drivers had left in the first six months of the year!
You could probably go to any transport company in the country & find the same thing.

Right am I going to all the wrong company’s for jobs been offered one at ramage one at harkers Sunderland on the general side money seems ok

As I always say, you’ll never know till you give it a go. Work out which job “appears” to suit you best, give it a trial run of a month or so, move if not happy. Both companies will still be looking when/if you want to change.

Rambo’s always asking for drivers…

What does that say…■■?

The rigids I’ve seen look beaten up but the artics, bar a few DAFs look like they are in pretty good shape.
