Spoke to some RD lads on the ferries in the 1990`s,as well as Kasakstan along with Peter Gilder T/A Russanglia,some got as far as east towards China,an embassy contract,carrying computers,the drivers would hire armed guards to come along in stages of the journey.
Drivers didn´t usually do the hiring it was usually arranged by either the seller or the receiver of the goods
Thats amazing . Imagine if there was better roads to China from Europe we could see a lot trucking between China and the West.
Jan de Rooy actually used to load Phillips goods to China then sell the trucks and fly the drivers home
