Radio " time out"

im driving a 13reg man 18t, when I park up and switch off, the radio only works for approx. 5 mins then switches off ? its the same if I leave the ignition on the first(accessory ) position . can this be altered ? its a ruddy nuisance when all I want to do is take 30mins out with a coffee and a look at the paper while listening to a tune or two .

Turn the key one more click to keep the radio on, the next turn on the key is for the ignition.
Be careful of the tacho mode switch while turning the key, it changes the modes and messes up the break.
There is a timer on the radio to save the battery on one of the key positions.

Normal, turn the ignition switch one click to ACC position, no lights will come on but the radio will work continually.

Go into the radio menu and you should be able to adjust the off time from there.

Does the radio actually have an on/off button? If it has, after the radio has switched off, try pressing this. It should work.

Should be a menu button on the radio somewhere. Haven’t got access to one until tuesday so can’t help any further until then. Maybe someone here drives one that can help a bit more quickly.

cheers lads , will have a "fiddle " tomorrow .

The only thing i can find on the Menu is the set volume traffic alerts come through when the radio is on but otherwise silent.

Sounds like Syramax’s radio has been wired in wrong, when ignition is in ACC position it should work continually.

sorted !! go to menu scroll up/down using the arrows on unit until display says hour then scroll left to right again using the arrows it is then possible to increase the play time up to 1 hr . I hope this makes sense without pics , thanks for the advice

Did you try reducing from 10mins? a few radios in the past I have seen allow you to set it to 0mins, thus disabling the auto shut-off feature

no , I went to the max (1hr) which should be long enough but I will try going the other way to see if it dose disable it . thanks
