Desert island discs is one of my favourites too.
Yes I like to listen to these on podcast, have played Brian moore’s one many times. John Humphreys is great to listen to on today.
That john humpries likes the sound of his own voice too much. He needs to listen a bit more and stop bloody talking over people!
Politicians only agree to interview to get across their message it is up to John to more or less say shut up your boring us with that, but to get them to answer a question they do not wish to discuss. He is an x dairy farmer so is ok
There is a lady on there does some interview think her name is Robinson or something like that. Very good interviewer, always seems to cut in with the right question at the right time.

Not sure if it was him or one of his mates, but I heard a feature on the evening news programme about some guy who got stopped by the police for letting his 4yo daughter cycle on the pavement, and they turned it into a heated debate about cycling on the pavement generally and about how scared older people are by it, when in fact nobody is really threatened by a 4yo girl. They were too keen to have a big debate to actually discuss the issue. It always used to be common on other news programmes, like on the Jeremy Vine show on R2, but R4 always tried to be impartial and rational, something they’ve given up on since the last election. They’re terrified of annoying politicians and jeopardising the licence fee.

Propaganda my friend
You turn molehills into mountains and the real issues go unnoticed.
