Radio 4 has run out of news

Did anyone hear the report on the Scottish weather (about 06.20) this morning ?

A Bloody Woman Reporter was somewhere in the wilds up north, reporting on the wind, it was like an episode of Eddies Trucks & Trailers, so dramatic, as if they’ve never had strong winds before. I don’t know how they’ll cope.

Oh by the way-Radio 4, ITS WINTER !

I am in Perthshire where some major roads are blocked due to fallen trees. Those trees had stood for more than 100 years. This morning all rail services were cancelled ,I have never known this to happen in the last 50 years.

two trucks blown over on the a9, 1 is in the big layby at drumochter where the driver was in bed when the wind blew the truck over according to my mate on facebook (he’s in newtonmore truckstop after being told not too move by his traffic office)

3 inches of snow in parts of England and the whole UK needs to hear about it all day from the BBC,Sky and every other channel with “updates” and “breaking news”. But storm force gales in Scotland and it is annoying enough to start a new thread with? :unamused:
There are major road incidents, closures and problems not to mention flooding and damage.

A stationary truck blew over?

Really?! :unamused:

3" of snow today here too. On top of the couple of feet that have already fallen during the past couple of months. No mention of it in the news

That’s what I thought, bet he slept like a baby, being vigorously rocked in the cradle

Though I’m thinking that many years ago a lorry got blown into the Manchester ship canal

I pay for bbc too you know, so I’m glad it reports on real news like bad weather rather than London getting some sleet!

Makes a change from MPs, Ched Evans and Muslim fanatics anyway.

just because your not moving doesnt mean the wind wont blow you over, they were having wind gusts of up too 106 mph (thats hurricane force) on the west sides of scotland so you wouldnt even be able too stand up in that wind let alone a truck pulling a curtainsider sat in a open layby

it was a 3663 trailer and if he was stationary then he’s been blown about 60 metres without touching the grass, because when I passed him he was just a couple of feet off road on the south bound side, unfortunately his cab had ended up in a drainage ditch.

I didn’t think so.

told it was a curtainsider but wouldnt be first time a truck driver got it wrong so that would be 2 and according to the bbc news scotland 2 trucks were over. wotever happend hopefuly the drivers got out ok.

here is the evidence that a stationary truck got blown over in the layby. credit too mr hodgson on facebook for the picture. that be the 3663 on it side aswell at roadside

A few years ago at Harthill services an Owens wagon went over in the wind.
The driver woke up in the footwell with a broken collar bone for his trouble,so aye they do fall over when parked.
