Radcliffe Heavy Recovery and M-WAYS

A friend of mine has asked me to find out about 2 companies M-ways and Radcliffe Heavy Recovery. I’m not sure if spelt either one right, but can’t find anything on the internet about them. Not even sure if they are still running

I wonder if anyone has heard of these two companies.

I have worked with ratcliff guys on the A1 they are a great bunch and work hard

Just noticed a pic on that site which reminded me of something I saw going south on the M1 as I was going north at J25. There was 2 “underlift” recovery units, one had the tractor unit on tow that it had just recovered. The other however had the artic trailer on tow attached some how to the underlift bar. I wanted to ask, how is this possible?

Cheers

There are proper attachments available that fit to the underlift and allow connection to the trailers pin, it is also possible to rig up an underlift crosshead using the normal forks and chains for general towing.

Thank you foyr the reply “Mechanic77”. It was a Crouch Recovery Volvo FH16 that was towing the trailer, and seeing it only as a normal underlift, I thought “how is that possible”. That clears that up.

Cheers muchly
