R.I.P Marco Simoncelli

R.I.P Marco :frowning:

Wheel Nut:
By the look of it Colins bike has gone right over his helmet and at one point on the video you can see Marco at one side of Colins bike and his helmet between the Yamaha and Rossi.

I would have said (looking at the video and the picture in the Mail article) that it was Rossi’s bike that hit his helmet.

I see it as Marco was already off the bike after a highside, (unseen) Colin took massive evasive action leaving him and Rossi nowhere to go and maybe Colins bike has hit his head first breaking the helmet and then Rossi also hits the helmet.

It was reported as a 150 mph crash, but with Marcos trajectory it was probably more like 200mph impact.

The whole story will come out and Motor cycle racing will learn from it.

Franco Uncini is the riders safety representative in Moto GP. He will have some input into the inquiry as he survived a similar accident when Wayne Gardner knocked his helmet off at Assen. He was in a coma for a long time but survived

It was a similar incident to Shoya Tomizawa at Misano when Scott Redding and De Angelis hit him with the same tragic results.

I have just found another video which shows more of the incident, it even looks like his own bike has gone over him too.
