Glyn was a well known and much respected fleet owner and driver. He loved his ERF’s and passed away on Friday 25th November. Anyone with any photo’s please, we would love to see them…
I read that he has passed on in the Hereford Times today. His lorries used to come up this way to the Gore and Strinds/Dolyhir quarries. RIP Glyn Morris.

Just came across this photo from the Malvern show in 2006, he always had a well turned out fleet of ERF’s, Atkinsons and I’ve heard that he once had a Maudsley…

Just had a word with my old mate haulier Tony Lewis from Peterchurch. The haulage firm in Lea near
Ross on Wye was John Margarets.Based at the garage on the Gloucester road going out of Lea.Now replaced by houses.
Cheers Dave.
Hi, I never knew that. I think at one time there was a firm that parked coach’s in there, I don’t suppose you know any more about John Margarets? such as what trucks, how many and what livery? I know it’s a lot to ask. I know that Glyn Morris lived up on the left bank going out of Lea past the lights…Cheers

I think they were blue and ran about five bulk tippers at about the same time as Glyn Morris. There are some nice houses built on the site of their garage as you go out of Lea on the right hand side.
Both firms used to come up this way and load out of the Gore quarry now and again.
I’ve been told that John Margaret had a farm at Hope Mansell and he had about 10 or 12 bulk tippers, ERF’s, Atkinsons and artic’s. Hauled spuds and beet and maybe coke. They were black or very dark blue. The farm is still there, probably some relative of his I expect. Our dad used to buy bags of spuds off him from the farm. Any other info welcomed…

I think a bloke by the name of Price ran the haulage for John Margaret. That is what Tony Lewis told me,and he is one of the older hauliers from Herefordshire who knew those blokes.I remember the lorries around in the 60’s and 70’s.
Cheers Dave.
