Quick Route Question

Going to Newport tomorrow down the A49 in an Artic. Is the A4137 suitable to cut across onto the A40 or best to stay on A49 to pick up A40.

Depends where you are coming from.Stay on the A49 to just past Harewood End then turn right and join the A40 at Whitchurch and run down the dual carriageway to Newport. Although there were hold ups at Monmouth today.
