We have an sdc flat trailer with a head board and 12 twist locks. I have a one off job of a 45ft container in the morning and have never put a box on this trailer.
Does anyone know which locks to use for the 45ft box? It has 3 twist locks front and back on both sides. Anyone able to help?
The same ones as a 40ft box? Have you not got a sticker on the side of the chassis?
A 40 and 45ft box have the same pin setup, but on a slider, you make the trailer a few inches shorter for length regs, C&U regs and weight distribution.
Too hard to say without seeing it, but if you park up next to a 45 footer, you should see which pins you need.

sorry you’ve confused me … with that and to be honest I don’t think it’ll fit since your using a 40ft flat which is primarily for flat work with the addition of TL’s for a 40 or 2 x 20’s or a mid 20 if i’m reading it right.
someone will know better though

Aren’t these designed for 45 footers? I have seen the flatbeds with a 40 footer with room to spare on the front and back of the box
I have never used a flatbed, always a sliding skellie.
Sorry, just to clarify, it’s a 45ft flat trailer with 3 locks each side at the front, and 3 each side at the back. There are more in the middle for 20ft boxes but they dont matter at the mo.

on a skel (which is slid back) it is the front pins and the back pin for a 45ft
for a 40ft, its the 2nd set from the front and the rearmost pair, in the fully stretched out position.
Not too sure on a solid flatbed. Sorry
Best advice I can give is to park up next to the box you are loading and it will be clear
Where the groove is half way between the legs and the headboard - that one each side
and the pair at the back would be my best guess
Ah no prob, I’ll figure it out. Just thought someone might know.
I’ve only ever put containers on sliders. Trying to save the hassle of figuring it out with the box hanging over my head lol
where’s Spanky when you need him

If you are loading up somewhere like felixstowe, park next to any 45 in the stacks, have a look at the pins and lift up the right ones.
Thanks fellas.
