Can someone confirm for me whether Statutory leave can be counted as weekly rest periods.
I understand that it cannot be used to reduce the average working hours over a reference period and that 8 hours per day are used for calculation purposes but am not sure about whether it can be used as weekly rest.

No problem at all as far as I can see, you’re not working so you can call it what you want and that includes weekly rest
