Quick hours question

Terry T:
This is a new one though, always nice to smell fresh turd.

Not new, it’s been about for years and been asked about on here many times over the years. Here’s a post from over 10 years ago on the same subject. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m having a relaxed afternoon and first full day with no work for 20 days.

Mind you on a couple of those days I only did 1 hours work but it’s still the first day with nothing to do so yes you could say I’m bored. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s been asked and answered so many times but I just remembered jimti asking the question and me answering it at one point, didn’t realise it was so long ago though. :stuck_out_tongue:

You couldn’t make it up! Apparently on your first day back after your 45 hours off you can’t do a 10 hour driving shift now either.
It’s actually scary how wrong people get the hours laws.
Now I’ll admit, I don’t do boats anymore, don’t work many weekends and only do the odd night out. So split breaks, reduced weekly rest, ferry shunts etc don’t affect me and because I don’t do them, I would be a little rusty as to the regs.
But I make sure that I know inside out the ones that affect me because I like to know I’m right when stopped.
It’s baffles me why someone wouldn’t bother to know the laws that affect them daily.

This is the thing, while its great to know every reg from gv262 inside out, really all you need are the ones that affect you.

Say you never go anywhere near a ferry in truck, you don’t need to know the rules regarding embarkation and rests etc, but if you are aware there IS a rule about that, you could look it up should you suddenly find yourself on your way to Dover.

Or you could ask on here, and be derided for being an unprofessional moron, not fit to drive a nail, let alone a truck.
