My wallet has started itching of late, and i`m looking to update from my old setup of a 4 channel Rotel amp and Bose speakers. Still very good but a fair few years old now and well caned. Been looking at the KRK Rokit 8 G3 studio monitors with a view to coupling them through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (usb 2.0) audio interface. That would mean that my laptop or phone would be the only music sources i need, as the monitors are powered and the interface also has award-winning pre amps built in.
Any music nutters out there had any dealings with similar set-ups - it seems to be the next level up from conventional amp/speaker configurations, and might well be the last sound gear i buy before drawing my last breath.
Curious as to what eardrum-shattering combos the rest of you treat your neighbours to!
Oh, and in the event, i might well be needing a sound-proofed house to go with them, if anyone knows of one going cheap.
