Questions for potential employers........?

As an inexperienced driver you probably cannot afford to be that picky, but what kinda of questions should be asking potential employers?

Im going to start putting the feelers out in my area…

“Do you take on inexperienced driver?” - I’ve only asked one firm so far and they said “Yes”
“Hourly rates?”

These are 2 obvious questions, but what else should i be asking, or what would you be asking…?

Hourly rates, sick pay, leave entitlement and overtime availability. Do they expect nights out.

Each answer can lead to a multitude of other questions so that’s why most conversations/interviews are on a dynamic basis. Any interview that asks set questions off a sheet and that’s it’s I’d personally be wary of.

One question I’ve always asked is ‘what do you expect off me in the role and what can I expect in return ?’

What they answer and HOW they answer speaks volumes of the company if your good at reading between the lines.

Another reverse point is be careful of asking too many questions without asking why your asking if you get my drift .

I’ve done tons on interviews and whilst it’s refreshing to be asked questions, you’d be surprised how many become mute when you ask if they’d like to ask anything, it can come across as a person who’s looking for ways not to work rather than work and be flexible.

hard to explain but as said I’ve done tons of interviews and you can see what a persons looking for in the type of questions they ask.

Another thing you can do is ask to be shown around and if possible ask other drivers what it’s like working there. Any proper firm won’t mind in the least their staff being asked questions, just take some replies with a pinch of salt.

What is the pension like ? What percentage do the company put into it ? I’ve paid into company pensions since I was 18 so this is always something I find out about.
