Question for ROG

Seen it written, but when asked some coach drivers they said it dont exist. It is the 45 minute break can be reduced to 30 minutes if only taken at a certain bus station in London.

I’ll answer this one for ROG because otherwise his head is likely to explode and he’ll probably only PM me for the answer anyway. :stuck_out_tongue:

It used to be the case that drivers of PSV’s engaged on regular services to designated locations, London Victoria Coach Station being one of them, could take a break of 30 minutes after four hours driving. This derogation was removed on 11th April 2007 when the regulations were last changed and they must now follow the normal break rules, 45 minutes or 15 + 30 minutes before exceeding 4.5 hours driving.

I’m glad you answered that cos I did not have a clue…

Merci Monsieurs.

If you drive a coach from Athens to Lefkas town which is roughly a 5 and a half hour trip you dont get time to drink yor coffee cos they only stop for 20 to 25 mins. aint figured out yet whether they do the return trip on the same day yet. I,ve been on the bus when the drivers been stopped by the police for not wearing a seat belt, had his tacho,s checked, a 15 minute argument in which the driver seemed to come out on top, and we were back on our way! It,s another world .

Not much point in a PM when it’s in this forum where you are the Mod

Hmmm… Yes ROG, there is a certain logic to that. However, in this very topic, it is written that:

:bulb: ROG, I’m only suggesting that it may not be wise for you to answer this.   :grimacing:

Hasn’t stopped you in the past, although it is generally for questions asked on other sites you PM. :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

If I find a question anywhere that I cannot answer then asking an expert is always a good move IMO

I agree, but it’s usually only a good move if you make it clear that the answer has come from someone or somewhere else

Agreed for two reasons - acknowledgement to the expert and not leading others to think that I am the expert because they will expect more in the future and I’m likely to look silly. :exclamation:

How pleasing that the UK is copping a £40m/day invoice to support these quaint practices because ‘we’re all the same now’ (?)
