Question for log haulers

Dont know if it’s been asked before but what catagory of Hiab operators licence do you normally need for loading logs.
Thanks in advance for sensible replies.

I will ask our office , but i,m not to sure if you need an actual ticket or not :open_mouth: .

Because most forests are not actually open to the general public , you may get away with an " In House " training.

My guess would be “grab”.

And the fact that forests aren’t open to the public is totally irrelevant. Neither are building sites but you need certification there.

I doubt you’ll get far with any respectable employer without proper certification, RTITB or whatever they are called these days.

just because sites insist on certificates for cranes does not in any way make it a law!

No, I agree. It might not be law, but then again it’s not a licence but a certificate of competence. Insurers do not tend to look favourably on untrained operators in the event of an accident, hence my comment.
