Question About A 10 Hour Drive On A Sunday Night

Nick Pritchard:
all you have done is use 6 hours up on day 1 if you drive 4 hours on the monday then you have used a 10 in a 24 hour period ie 00-00 till 00-00 easy way to remember is what you drive after midnight knock off that days driving allowance

What days driving allowance? There is no actual limit to the number of hours you can drive in the 24-hour period from 00:00 to 00:00, other than that imposed by time constraints.

You could drive from 00:00 to 04:00 and then take a daily rest period until 11:00 and then drive another 10 hours in that shift. You don’t have to knock the 4 hours off the number of hours you can drive in the shift starting at 11:00.

The 9 and 10 hour driving limits are the number of hours you can drive between rest periods, not the amount allowed between 00:00 and 00:00/24:00.
