Putting stickers over the in cab cameras

Franglais:
People generally behave better when they know they are being observed.
Cameras are a way of making people behave better. And drive better.

So Maoster gets bored with your forum technique,.then in some sort of self satisfied perception of ‘‘victory’’ , you have to finish off with a monologue summing up precis, in the context of it being an actual fact rather than your own opinion.
I would ask you why you are so confident that this is in fact accurate, but you would no doubt bombard me with links and official statistics…so I wont.

If Maoster gets fed up, I am meant to self censor somehow?
You think I should/will change my posts to pander to his wishes?
My views arent formed just to ■■■■ off him or you or anyone else in particular. More and more evidence you dont understand how discussion groups* function.

So, if I show studies showing backing up what I have said, you won`t read them?
No real surprise there, sad to say.

robroy:
To ‘behave better’ I would have to ‘behave’ badly in the first place.
I don’t ‘behave badly’ whilst driving, as far as I’m concerned , and I certainly don’t NEED a [zb] camera to monitor my ‘behaviour’.as I am a professional driver not a 12 year old school kid, and if I am attempted to be treated so I will do everything I can to prevent it,…unlike yourself.
But to keep the peace I will let ‘them’ think they have won,.which keeps everybody happy.

Yep. Not like a 12 year old.

More like a 3 year old.

Its like with me,I have a sleep in my break, set the alarm on my phone and forget about it,then 20 minutes up the road, the alarm goes off,I cant touch the phone because the camera is there.I cant eat or drink anything either,so I should be a safer driver,in theory

Are you allowed a cigarette?

''Self censor, don’t understand how forums work, don’t care what people think of me ‘’ etcetera etcetera…pretty standard Franglais retorts.
You should make a template and just screenshot your stuff to save you a bit of time.

Yet again Frangers you are fully entitled to YOUR OPINION, however it does not necessarily mean it is accurate and fact…

Only if he gets permission off his teacher…sorry, his boss.

how long will it be before we hear of a driver that was let go for being caught on camera answering his phone while driving because the office bod kept calling him.

cameras on the inside looking at the driver are completely unneeded the only thing they do is work for the company to beat the drivers with a bigger stick

Robroy. If all firms fit them, maybe there comes a day when you will have a camera too. And,didnt you say you intend to work till youre 90?
Yes,definitley, then, the day will come when you will be going down the motorway with the camera looking at you and worse than that, maybe other monitoring technology. Its not a question of if,but when, and I will have a little chuckle at your expense!

the maoster:
Don’t believe everything you’re fed.

You mean to tell me signs like ‘‘The cameras are there for your protection’’ and ‘‘Speed limit in place for your safety’’ are LIES?? G. Orwell would approve of those messages btw.

1 piece of anectodal evidence - at our company the vans have all inside/outside cameras (driver+front facing) the lorries currently don’t have any. Last year there were 10s of 1000s of pounds worth of damage to vans, way over budget vs. almost nothing on the lorries save for a few scratches here and there due to shunting accidents, not 1 major accident for years. Vans every few months they do a clean-up (sack drivers caught on phones or taking too long breaks - trackers fitted too) so constantly they’re looking to hire van drivers. In other words the cameras seem to do f-all to prevent damages and accidents yet the genius managers have decided the new lorries will also have cameras all around despite 0 road accidents in the last 3 years

Chuckle all tf you like Mary Poppins, but I’ll be making voodoo dolls of all the spineless pricks who just bent over cheeks parted and readily accepted all this type of stuff with zero resistance.

Take a guess who will be doll number one. :grimacing:

Handily, those of us who don’t actually need a camera pointed in our face have the option to not do so, we can easily move on and get a job elsewhere, somewhere that maybe appreciates care and competence and knows the difference between a lorry driver and a bar of soap, and those who need a camera pointing at them can take our places, time will tell which works out in which operators favour.

There’s thousands of bods out there who won’t say no, they can have the camera pointed at them all day long, fill yer boots lads, just don’t be surprised when the next big brother move comes along and the ones after that, keep saying yes boss and the job will only get progressively worse, and the person to blame for it will be looking back at them in the mirror.

Yes,here is the next big brother move, its nearly upon us
hgvt.co.uk/hgv-training-new … iredness/#

This seems like a continuation of the trend from the past, idk - 10,15 years? to keep finding non-working solutions to non-existing problems in the most wasteful way possible.

Yes,I know we joke about it but all this technology is gathering pace.I remember when I started trucking and when I went for an interview they asked me for my mobile number. When I told my dad,he said he would have told them to get lost if they asked him for his mobile number because he never had one.But now,its expected that you have a mobile, isnt it?
reuters.com/article/us-usa- … SKBN1AA2UZ

Now,looking forward, look at this company offering its employees the chance of a microchip implant, now my cat has a microchip in case he gets lost.Eventually, over time, these things will catch on.At first, companies will offer you the chance of having the microchip. Then, there will come a time when it will be in the contract of employment. They wont give you the job in the first place unless you agree to have this thing fitted.
The next step then, once these things are common, the government will force everyone to have one surgically fitted

Yes I know I sound crazy, saying all this now,but look how things have changed over the last couple of decades.Isnt that saying. The best way to boil a frog is not to heat it up quickly but to keep turning the heat up gradually until you reach the required temperature. As for the microchips,I even found reference from the book of revelations in the Bible.
biblehub.com/revelation/13-16.htm

Now,I appreciate not everyone believes in this book, but to me ,it seems like a good description of where we are all heading. And I think we should resist these things and Im all for standing together but I always found,in the past, that mostly,it seems its every man for himself, like with the cameras,if your company has them fitted, you only really have two choices, you put up with them or you leave and get replaced,in my case,it means probably supermarket work which I dont fancy

Companies will offer you the chance of having a microchip.

I KNOW I SOUND CRAZY SAYING ALL THIS.

Nooooooooooooo.whatever makes you think that…

I worry for this guy, is he on a full time wind up on this forum…Or is he actually SERIOUS. :open_mouth:

sploom…

Is already used to being watched over all the time though.

FFS… You need some less dystopian reading material at bedtime if you think the future really looks like that.

Anyway, the would-be Orwellian-style manipulators are so much more subtle than that, they dress things up as “desirable” so people knock themselves out to have one - no force involved at all.

I’m talking about mobile phones of course, and anything associated with Google et al.

I’m fairly certain he’s serious, which is more worrying than any wind up

It was never said if the driver who put the tape on had an accident or was he able to make it safely through his day without being watched. :open_mouth:

Its funny, when I say contraversial things ,the same names pop up afterwards.Throwing insults at me doesnt prove anything and might discourage others from contributing to the forum.I dont expect everyone to agree with me but I do have respect for others that have a different viewpoint
