I was driving down the dual carrageway and in a layby a saw a fellow trucking putting air into the middle axil tyre using one of his sussie lines off the unit. Can you get attachment that fits onto a sussie to be able to use as a tyre pump.?
yes, I’ve seen them in europe that fit the palm couplings and have a tyre valve on the end or a connector for an air driven tool like an air gun, they cost around 40 euros.

Even cheaper to buy the bits separate and make your own
I think it was DAF’s that always came with a tyre inflating house you could attach to a valve on one of the air tanks. I’ve got one that I acquired kicking about somewhere from my OD days.

I got one with my actros but it just has the tyre inflating valve, the ones you can buy have the thing where you can attatch an air gun for wheel nuts as well
Yeah, we use these in the wreckers, though not at £75 we don’t!
Male ‘C’ coupling (suzie end), workshop airline, cheap tyre gague, knock a fitting up to adapt suzie end to PCL coupling (airline).
We’ve never paid for ours, just knocked them up out of stuff in the yard.
Probly’s about £20 in bits off ebay.

Wheel nuts is tyre fitters work, I wouldn’t want to be doing anyone out of a job.
I have tried one of the supplied hoses that came with a Actros and it didn’t seem to do anything, I fiddled with it and assumed it was broken, asked a mechanic about it and he said they are extremely slow, as a truck air compresser just don’t have the volume for a tyre, Is this correct ?

Standard equipment in the tool kit of a Scania in the 60’s and 70’s and a useful piece of kit to carry.
You could also charge the air system of another truck that needed a tow!

Yes, look at the size of a lorry air tank and then the size of a tyre.
It will work eventually, just as those boxes on sticks do, given enough time.
Regards,
Nick.
no its not… its the bore of the pipe or where you plug it in that will restrict air flow
i carry an air line which plugs into the red suzie which i can inflate truck tyres to 120 psi, or to power a 1 inch drive air gun to take wheels off
all you need do is set the rpm a little higher on the cc switch
I got one of them in my van for emergencys need to keep your engine running as well…Also got a pipe with adaptor to release trailor brakes and fill up air tanks so i can lift the trailor suspension when drivers drain the tanks
cheaper to ask at a tyre place for the bits you need and grab a old suzuie from a workshop along with a length of air hose thats as long as the trailor…very handy if you find the tyre flat in the morning and you only need to get a few miles away before it goes flat again

■■■■■■■■, we run bdoubles with an auto inflate system, basically theres an airline running constant air supply to every tyre at all times, and will let me know by means of a light system if i have a puncture, or a pressure problem on the trailers. if i have to change a tyre, the fitter doesnt even need to inflate to tyre he just has to change it and put the valve onto the main air system and my trucks compressor will inflate it eventually.
These air lines used to be standard equipment and run off the test point on the relief valves or air tanks, or like the picture off the red airline, always a handy bit of kit to carry. I have one somewhere which I made.
You used to be able to buy them for cars in which you removed a spark plug and used the engine as a compressor.
Strange feeling, knowing you are driving a car with tyres filled with highly flammable gas
