Purpal tube running up the middle of m5?

Woundered if anyone knew what the purple tube was used for that’s running for miles up the Middle of the m5 barrier around the middle ands area ? Thanks

Orange/Black is power i.e street lighting, purple is data/comms (or power in Scotland), green is fibre-optics/TV (in urban areas anyway), grey/white is usually BT, blue is water, yellow is gas, anything metal is usually gas

Nice one, thanks Santa !

there would be more metal water pipes then gas now

They are the cables for the gantries.

White is usually Cable and Wireless/Mercury, now been bought up by Vodafone

Most of it is made by Naylor Industries in Barnsley.
