I see this all the time, a car does not accelerate to match the speed of passing traffic, they just pull out at about 20 mph, totally unaware to the chaos they have caused.
If I see these myopic muppets, I get in lane two.Buffoonery on the highways.
Another observation, when a breakdown mechanic is fixing a car on the roadside, the car driver and passengers huddle around staring at the engine or what is being repaired, in the hope by looking at it will fix it.
I would tell them I need space to work, wait over there please.
Last observation, a lorry went past me, the driver had his left leg on top of the dash, in his right hand a roll up ■■■, with his right arm out the window, dread to think of the reaction time if a vehicle anchored up in front of him, at 56 mph, you go a long way in a few seconds.
The time for the brain to calculate a problem.
The time to physically apply the brakes.
The time to stop, the time to skid.
Not his truck, with work boots scratching the dash.
Its because its never happened to them. Ask any driver how has had an accident what their driving style is now, I bet you a lady Godiva they at the very least pay more attention to the road around them.
been and got the tshirt, its not the best tshirt to have either
car pulled off the hard shoulder 1996 5mph i hit it doing 56mph at 38t
I’ve lost count of the amount of times I given instructions to a driver on how to rejoin the carriageway only to see them pull straight out into lane 1 as I’m getting in the patrol car. If they’re going to kill themselves, they can at least have the decency to not take me with them!!!
I had this happen only two weeks ago on the M8 between Livingston and Harthill.
It was on the 2 lane stretch, but it was a double whammy, I pulled into lane 2 to avoid him, but so did he in front of me , right from the hard shoulder, it was a miracle how I avoided driving over the top of the retarded ■■■■■
not sure?
have we had this discussion before?
i’ve had a fair few truck drivers do a standing start into lane 1 after being repaired, various reasons from not speaking english(can’t explain the procedure) to being hyper stressed about the breakdown situation(completely ignored what they were told to do).
leaves me gripping the steering wheel waiting for a big bang when they do it.
In the absence of any kind of motorway training, you would think common sense would help. Sadly it is badly lacking amongst a lot of people. It seems very strange to me that people are not taught any motorway driving rules or techniques, when passing a test.
I’m not even sure if driving on the motorway is used on a car test?

Its not, learners aren’t allowed on a motorway so they aren’t taught how to drive on them. So you can pass your test then join the M25 at Heathrow in rush hour if you so desire.
That’s what I thought Radar. Seems ridiculous.
