Why is it that some lorry drivers feel the need to pull back into the left lane too quickly causing you to have to slow down?
Yesterday on the m61, m6 and m56 the amount of them doing this was incredible especially with the amount of rain and spray about
Makes me feel nervous and in my opinion, an accident waiting to happen
One of my pet hates this… I don’t flash most wagon drivers in because they’ve cut it too fine already, so I don’t get the chance. Rigids are the worst for this.
I tend to stay out for a long time , until I’m sure that I’m well clear, using the sun/shadows (if it’s in the right place)
Some drivers give you a nice long flash, whilst others just touch the lever & flash for a milli’ second ! Thanks for that ! But most of the time I’m looking ahead & only looking in the mirrors for a second (every 10 seconds or so)
Some don’t flash at all (seems to be the younger ones or maybe our European Agency Friends)
Some drivers flash you in too early, now I know the back end is 60ft behind me & I can’t judge it to the inch, but I can tell its a bit close, so I will stay out a bit longer.
If they move over too soon then I just ease off slightly until they’re a safe distance, I have noticed that a few flash you in a little early so I just carry on for a while then they flash you again as if you must move over when they say and I really don’t think there are any particular culprits for this, there’s good and bad drivers whatever they are in

It’s probably down to that fact they can’t see past their daft frilly curtains or window etchings and when they do sometimes say thanks with 5 or 6 indicator flashes which confuse some other road users I always give 2 flicks of my sidelights as a thank you because I’m old school and that’s how me dad taught me also when they do start indicating to pull in too soon I put me right indicator on that seems to stop em
I will usually over do it and pull in leaving plenty of room, used to feel some invisible pressure from vehicles behind when i was younger but it doesn’t bother me now.
Will usually flash other trucks in daylight once I feel comfortable of the gap developing and at night time I will switch from headlights to side lights with couple of flicks if I’m feeling really friendly to invite them back in rather than ruin night vision of other road users with a full flash.
Some other posts before have mentioned coach drivers not saying thanks when being flashed in.
They do not have to as they have a rear view camera and can see when it is safe to pull in.If you passed a hundred trucks a
day you would soon get bored of flashing indicators all day or all night.

Because they are ■■■■ poor drivers, mostly foreign lorrys do it to me.
Good and bad in everyone. What’s more annoying is when two “professional drivers” play cat and mouse for 3 miles, then, when the overtaking drivers pulls in, the one on the inside slows right down to maintain a safe gap. Why didn’t you just slow down when he was overtaking you

I always flash other drivers in because its good manners and I’d feel like a jobsworth prick for not doing so. As for pulling in, I always leave more room than enough and wait to be flashed in because it has absolutely nothing to do with me feeling that I’m past, its all about the driver that I have passed being happy with me pulling in front of them and not taking his safety zone away. Pulling in too soon and leaving them no option but to have to back off because all they can see is my back doors is certainly not the way to do it. If they don’t flash me in then I simply pull in when I think I’m well beyond.
This doesn’t really bother me,it’s this new thing of drawing along side then putting the left indicator on,it frightens the life out of me,straight away you think zb he’s comming over,I went on the hard shoulder the other day as I was sure he was comming over.
Just baffles me why they do it,it’s not as though there anything like past you, there alongside and on the indicator comes, strange thing to do,and bloody frightening for the poor soul on the inside
