Pub for Football

For all the lads that have stayed at the Central Hotel while on their training, can you recommend a good pub in the area for the footie and some food■■? Any other places decent for reasonable grub during the week as well?

Cheers

Mat

Cant tell you about footie, but Central Hotel is on the edge of a road full of different takeaways and restaurants. The quality varies but some of it is excellent. (wont mention some of the others!). Thinking about it, there is a pub called New Cross which advertises SKY sports. It’s at the far end of the road with all the grub. (Outram St). I would think 10 - 15 minute walk from Central.

Pete

Thanks Pete! I’ll check it out.

Turn right out of the B&B down the hill, go straight on and at the far end of the precinct is a Weatherspoons with a monster TV, plus a couple of smaller ones. Just don’t drink the Old Rosie on tap, it’s diabolical!

Will a Welshman be welcome in that pub in a couple of weeks if we beat England on Thursday■■?

I should limit your dreaming to passing your tests mate, keep your goals realistic!

You English always think you’ve won the tournament before you even played a game! We will see

Not at all, I just believe we are less crap than you lot!
And how do you even play footie in wellies? :open_mouth:
Although I will concede that chasing amorous sheep around a field is probably good fitness training! :grimacing:

Hahahaha! Knew the sheep would come into it soon enough! Matkirk let me know if any good finds up there I’m up that way in less than a fortnight.

Will do mate. i just moved back from Mexico, so I’m currently just trying to stay wrapped up, warm and out of the constant drizzle…June in Mansfield :unamused:

Good thanks mate. I was just doing 35 hours cpc, so just had to stay awake for a week to get through it.

Didn’t bother eating out in the end, just walked to Asda…it’s amazing what you can rustle up with just an electric kettle, a mini pot of mustard and a bit of imagination lol!

From the noise I heard coming from the room, not many folks were asleep!

Pete

That will be all the FREE coffee they are drinking Pete! :grimacing:

What? The coffee is free now? Well what on earth do I do with this jar of silver I’ve saved up for it?
