step son has had his digicard & license back but cant tell if his license gives him any entitlement to drive LGV. his car & bike bits have dates by them but the LGV bits don’t, does this still mean he can take lessons provisionaly & the dates will be added after he’s passed ?

evrything ive passed has a date, the ones i am taking lessons on have no date but are there , so i imagine if its on there IE… C1,C, are things he provisionally entitled to , to have lessons .
Which categories does his counterpart show as provisional?
If no dates on actual photocard than it means no full licence for that category.
It’s what the paper part says.
Don’t assume! If it’s not on there then he has NO provisional entitlement
EDiT : If he has got a digicard then I think you can only get those if you have some form of LGV entitlement. You don’t say when he passed test so might have at least C1

Just want to correct this in case it accidentally leads someone up the wrong path. Any car licence holder can get a digicard. This is to cover eg ■■■■■■ van with a trailer which would be within the licence entitlement but could well come under tacho rules.
Don’t wish to derail the thread with full details; there’s enough there just to put it right.

This isn’t true. I’ve only got my Cat B at the moment. But there’s dates showing next to AM and p (maybe q?), which are moped entitlements you get when you pass your CBT. Before I’d even sent my medical off (and still nothing, 5 weeks later), I’d got all the ■■■■■■■■ on my licence, just no dates (So C1,C,D,C1E,CE,DE,gh all shown. fkp dated (with restriction 122 for p)).

Moped entitlement is given automatically with your car licence, code 122 means CBT required.
Nothing will change on your licence if you do CBT.
