Does anybody know the turnaround time with the dvla for a 1st provisional licence■■?
I gave my daughter the cash for her provisional 5 weeks ago and she says it still hasn’t turned up yet, I can’t believe it takes that long 
Took me two weeks when i applied for one back in 2004. I would ring up and find out why it is taking a while to get to you. They have might of sent it to you for all you know
Cheers mickey, it’s been bugging me and if I ask my daughter about it, I can see it turning into a arguement and don’t want that.
Either she don’t want driving lessons or it ain’t arrived yet.
Edit: just looked at a spare copy of the form and it says can take upto 4 weeks, and it’s 4 weeks tomorrow, not 5 weeks as I 1st thought.

The thought has entered my head, want to give her the benefit of the doubt, but there comes a time when I’ve gotta ask the question. Gonna give it til the end of the week and then phone them and find out what I can, I wanna know the facts before I ask my daughter. Have already paid out for a block booking of lessons
DVLA turn around times can vary massively, although at this time of year it’s normally pretty quick.
Around March & September it all grinds to a halt!
Took six weeks for my grandaughter’s licence to turn up - and that was after the application had been returned twice because she had filled part of the forms in wrong. GThat was just after New Year.
On the “New and wannabe’s” forum it’s generally considered to be 2-3 weeks. You (or more accurately, she) could phone DVLA and ask about progress.
Are you sure she actually wants to do it?
