Proper numpty

Explain this one to the boss.

A48 Newnham on Severn.

Proper job is that. :sunglasses:
Nice to see he’s maintaining our perceived professionalism, good pr work.

Get some hooks welded on and she’s a fine handy flat.
Glass half full sort of cove, me!

It’s getting to the point these people yeah people should lose their licence for a long time.

That’ll buff out

It beats me how some of the sorry arsed pathetic ■■■■ s manage to blag licences in the first place.
It needs sorted at training level,…ie teach them driving skills, techniques and required attitudes :bulb: … instead of just teaching them how to pass a test on a designated test route. :bulb:

If he didn’t take it for with the first bridge he could have had a second go on the next one [emoji6][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Looks like he gave 110% on that one, kept her lit til he was out the other side… well some of him was.

Probably blinded by the reflection of his high-viz in the windscreen.

Anyone else notice that the trailer roof is smiling?

Yep and that comes from a relative newbie (3 years), getting really sick of them.

Trouble is, if they aren’t UK licence holders or non UK citizens, would that be enforceable across Europe?

Brit ones should be auto banned on all driving categories from that point until they can prove height is significantly wrong or until prosecuted so they cant keep driving until court date.

Simplest option on licence would be permanent ban on class C / D and any suspension applies then to car licences.

And this is why you should strap your load you never know when the roof will fall off

I passed a bridge strike in Wales yesterday, unit and trailer on its side. Totally unnecessary

Wait a minute now. While I agree with that training could be vastly improved that is not the main problem. You had the same training (without the DCPC) and so did I and neither of us have gone bridge bashing!

We started ‘training’ in primary school that anything more than 14feet 3inches is more than 14feet 3inches [emoji57][emoji849]

When you and me took our training driving a truck was nothing like driving a car, you had to Learn things to drive in a very different way to a car, so the inept and the pathetic did not make the grade.
They are just like driving a (big) car nowadays, so these characters slip through the non existent net, where in the old days they would more than likely not, so on the whole, all this type of ■■■■ is the result.

Whilst I agree the vehicles are far easier to drive (would that not possibly mean more concentration for other things like bridges?) obviously not. :open_mouth: I don’t think the training has changed in anyway that would effect forgetting bridge height. What I do think is that in our day jobs were 10 a penny where as now ANY job is hard to come by so my theory is that because people cannot get anything else they think they will become a lorry driver and bridge basher!
Also in our day I think most people that sat their HGV because they wanted to drive lorries where as now it’s all they can get. Possibly. :bulb:

I also notice that on the rare occasion when I go home (UK) i find the local bus drivers drive their new buses like big cars having little thought for passenger safety or comfort. :unamused:
