Professional tag ! !!

A true professional was driving around years ago in a Dennis with a five pot Gardner, no heater, day or night, no power steering, seat like a slab of concrete, Brakes that took two years to stop you, handballing everything on and off and having to rope and sheet it.

+1…now your only a professional when your up in court getting an extra special shafting…otherwise the word has no bearing when its to your advantage and not plods.

Someone is considered a “professional” when they have undergone a certain period of training, and then become accountable to some form of regulation/regulator for their acts or ommisions. (TC). The same is true of other professionals such as gas appliance engineers, accountants etc. These other groups don’t necessarily earn more than someone driving a truck. I know a bloke who is a fully qualified accountant, he earns about £21k a year and is good at his Job. Even a junior doctor earns about the same

Here you go. I’d hardly call lorry driving professional. Semi skilled maybe, but not professional.

“Professional” is a state of mind. Take pride in your job, no matter what it is, and wear your professional status like the badge of honour it is.
