Professional drivers

Muckaway:
I’ve also worked with very experienced drivers who have the hump with anyone not doing the job their way ie tearing about, shouting the odds etc…
Same ones who think they have a right to be loaded first and must know what everyone else is doing

I can’t understand the experienced drivers who tear-arse about getting stressed, they should leave that to the young boys, I do and have a laugh to myself knowing that I am on the same rate of pay as them for doing the job as efficient, but in my own time without getting stressed out making mistakes that could lead to an accident… a hare and tortoise situation  …and for the record I couldn’t give a toss what other drivers are doing in regard to getting loads before me.

Live satellite tracking hasn’t helped a lot of drivers rarely will be used to help them find a drop or collection point (Like it should be used ) I’m not saying that a driver cannot stick religiously to the speed limit on all road driven on, but when you got some cockhead who thinks it’s good to impress the greedy organ grinder (aka The Fat Controller ) by Speeding ect to get ahead of schedule, could be one cause , others they ain’t really got a clue ,but they somehow got their LGV licence , When i first drove after passing my test i would stay out in the middle lane untill i got flashed in, or i was 100% sure that i was well passed before changing lanes ,

Can’t be arsed to read all the thread, but is this just the “I’ve been driving for 30 yrs so i’m better than you and how dare you even think to question me on it…” argument again?

I guess that is exactly the sort of attitude that the experienced lads are talking about. Well done.

Think you might have missed the cynicism in my post.

I don’t give a crap how long someone has been doing the job, if they’re good at it, they’re good at it. End of story.

Seen plenty of excellent new drivers and some very crap old hands, and vice versa.

Doing a job well is more about attitude than experience.

Thats coz no one can keep up with him in his flying machine to take the ■■■■ lol

What’s professional about flashing someone in? what’s un professional is not knowing when you’re past safely! never seen a truck without mirrors!
Tescos, morrisons, stobart drivers have all got their head so far up their %£& they wouldn’t see if you did!

I’ve never had a bad experience with a Tesco, Asda or other supermarket wagon except maybe the odd 35mph max (not much slower than me) driver. I have had plenty from Scania bling machines who think anyone driving less than 56 is an a-hole.

It’s not the wagons it’s the drivers! i know what they’re like, i used to work there!
I wouldn’t make a comment like that unless i new it to be fact!

Got something to look forward to then! It’s only a matter of time!

the public hate us enough as it is, but if we start hating each other where will that get us.

I’m not a trucker, I work for a car rental company so the nearest I get is a LWB ■■■■■■ van. That said, I understand exactly what you’s mean and agree with a lot of comments.

I’m lucky, there is a chap a work who was a Trucker for a long time and uses ‘trucka’ as his nickname and he’s taught me a lot of tips about driving bigger things, I’ve only had my (car)licence 7 years and bike licence 6; I’d say from a ‘neutral’ point that the average motorist share a view of ‘im here for 10seconds, this guys working all night’ etc, and they have no right to place themselves on a higher priority for journey time than a trucker/professional but they do. If anything it should be the other way round.

I always flash hazards when I’ve overtaken a lorry, flash high beam if ones got past me or wave if they give way to me… it’s not all dead.
