Procom training - drivercpc

Has anyone heard/used procom training in Dagenham driver cpc training■■?
Seems they have a lot of courses available but mainly only 3.5hrs each…

I think you’ll find there’s a problem with that…D CPC courses are all 7 hours although some can be taken in two 3.5 hour slots (so bus drivers can do school runs).

Would 2 3.5hr courses on the same day still count, or does each course have to be a min 7hrs?

Hi mate,

I don’t know the provider that you’ve mentioned, but it’s perfectly OK to take two 3.5hr courses on the same day and it’ll count for the 7hr requirement.
It’s also possible to take the two 3.5hr courses over two days to make the 7hrs, provided that certain conditions are met, but it’s not difficult to do.

Thanks dieseldave, need to catch up on a few hours, but wasn’t sure as i thought each course had to be 7hrs long.

Still interested to hear if anyone has used them and the experience had, as parting with hard earned money is difficult enough without wasting it on rubbish!

Choice …
decide if you need something and then spend quite a bit getting it
or
decide that you just need a DQC and do it as cheap as poss even if it means doing the cheapest course 5 times

You decide

I did 21 hours of my DCPC with Procom last summer (having done the other 14 hours with the bus company I worked for at the time). The guy who runs it is a Scottish guy called Tam McKellar and he runs the courses in a large cabin that he built at his house.

I found him to be fine. He’s a part-time driver and driver assessor for Citylink and seems to know his stuff. He never failed to upload the hours and you got the full seven hours. There was nothing dodgy at all. He lost a hand in a woodmill accident but still manages to drive Class 1’s ok despite his disability so respect to him for that.

I found his rates very reasonable for the London area and I am happy to endorse him, and will go back to Procom when I need to start doing the DCPC for the next lot of five years.

ROG yes doing it as cheaply as poss is of course the intention, just don’t want to part with money only to find out it’s a scam - research is key, regardless of purchase!

Thanks citycat, that was what i was looking for, thought it was at a private address, but as long as i get the DQC once completed, it could be in a field for all i care…

So how much do Procom charge for the CPC ?

I bet it depends on the course as I cannot imagine all the courses being the same price … but possible if they are all classroom based

procomdrivertraining.com/?page_id=16 = FROM £68.75
Not sure if that is good for that area but I have seen others under the £50 mark all incl

Thanks ROG.
I’ve been quoted £285 all in for the 5 days,£57 a module.
As it’s not far from where I am,I might have a slice of it.
