Secretelephant:
Personally I’m offering advice because I found myself in similar circumstances, after working in transport for a short period of time. It was a bit of an eye opener after spending my life doing lab work, at differing companies. Wherever I worked though I was always treated with respect.More importantly if there ever was some kind of employment problem, there was set rules and procedures to follow.
So when I found myself on the receiving of a tirade of baseless accusations from some pompuous twerp whilst still fairly green in truck driving, it’s very difficult to know what to say or do. Even worse of course when you have bills to pay. That’s what a lot of these jerks rely on. You’ll bow down and accept their bs because they think you have no choice.
Well in my case I managed to get compensation after my first job became untenable shall we say, but only after I got some good advice from my dad (who used to work as an HR manager), a ACAS/Emplyoment tribunal, but also from people On here.
It’s good to be able to ask folks who are in the same sort of job if your doing something wrong or if your TM really is behaving like a prize ■■■.
Unfortunately over the last 8 years or so I come across a few office bullies, and developing a thick skin, but also having a stratagy to deal with them is very useful.
It seems like you’ve had a hard time of it with similar circumstances, I hope you’ve been able to sort out the 'office bullies '. And yes it does make a big difference to be able to ask people for advice who are working in the same industry.

half the trouble is people who plan have no balls and therefore by being yes men will instantly screw the job up by trying to cut things to fine, which in turn leads to them being given grief and as a driver at the bottom of the ladder its all of a sudden your fault.
which is why for me there is a whole lot more than money to consider in a job.
He’s possibly on a power trip & trying to prove himself, & making g more of a mess of things.
When I took the job , it wasn’t as well paid as the other I had been interview for, & further from home. But it was a place where I thought I would be happy to work there , which until this recent delemma, it was working okay.
that’s hit the nail on the head to me, poor managers who are unable to manage ‘trying’ to prove their worth by making others unhappy.

I’m going to a conference about ‘solving the driver shortage’ on Friday…at some companies, treating people like human beings would be a good start, it seems.
Thanks for your reply gas gas, yes thay need to remember that we are human, a bit of courtesy goes a long way & costs nothing .

Trying to free up a job for a mate ?
Thanks for your reply lostsomewhere , you never know, there is definitely something underhand going on.
The manager is trying to be nice since I told him it was victimisation, & has issued the few on trunk with like a time sheet for times we’re called in, tip , load , leave the place, & arrive back in the yard. I smell a rat !!
brush past him and kick off saying he touched you up

" can any-one tell me how you would stand…"
I prefer to have a 60/40 stance with the majority bias being on my left side. I did experiment with having my right hand in my pocket for a while, however an emerging fascination with pocket billiards caused problems when out in public.
My current fave is to stand bolt upright with my head at a jaunty angle. Hope this helps.
It’s good you have a sense of humour, can you explain exactly what pocket billiards are please?
somewhat similar to hamster juggling, except its done internally
