i passed my cat C test 4 years ago. currently looking into if i can afford to take C+E. do i need to take another medical? and also, as i’ve yet to do any of my dcpci assume that i’d not be able to do any class 1 work until i have done my 35 hours, but would i still be allowed to do rigid work?
your medical is valid till your 45.
as long as you passed your cat C before september 2008 then you have “grandfather” rights on that and C+E till 2014

Categories C1, C & C+E are all LGVs and the DCPC states LGV not specific categories of LGV
Medicals follow the same as the above with one difference - the free pre 1997 C1 & C1+E were not gained by passing a DSA test which required a D4 medical so cannot be used as medical rights for C & C+E which is why such pre 97 licence holders must pass a D4 medical before they can be given the C provisional
