Hi, I’m using one of the company’s wagons, to help someone move house on Saturday.
Question is - will i need to put my tacho in like normal, or could I drive without putting it in?
Thanks,
Simon

Tacho in…
If the vehicle is not more than 7.5t you are exempt from EU regulations.
If the vehicle is more than 7.5t it’s not exempt.
The vehicle will be 7.5t.
As long as you’ve formally hired the vehicle, and aren’t being paid to drive it (“hire or reward”), no tachograph is needed.

You’re exempt on private work as long as the vehicle is not over 7.5t MAM, so you’re good to go and don’t need to use the tachograph.

That would be CPC, tacho is required if 7.5t or over.

At the risk of seeming pedantic, a vehicle used for private work is exempt as long as it doesn’t exceed 7.5t
Does he not need to set the tacho to ‘out of scope’ to account for the mileage and save the TM a headache ?
Yes it would be a good idea to put the tachograph on out of scope for the vehicle.
Cheers for all the advice.
