Have got C1 grandad licence
thinking of getting a DAF LF45
Will only be used for private use moving my own items from A to B
Have heard I can register it as Private HGV
But am having trouble frinding someone to do insurance for it, I will probably only
do a few thousand miles a year
All the ones Ive seen on google you have have to fill a form in and at the end it says cant help !
think maybe because it asked about operators licence and I have to click no.
Anyone had any experiance or recomendations they can share
or any general advice on private HGV
Still need an operator licence even for just your own goods
For own goods only your need a restricted operator license..so you can only carry your own good can’t carry goods for others for reward
Although you say it’s for private use it appears that you will be moving stuff on a regular basis and doing thousands of miles per year, it does sound more like commercial use to be honest.
