Well over the top sentence, a fine would have been enough, but prison and banned from driving probably ruined the rest of that blokes life.Just think when you heroes are slagging blokes like this off it could be me or you one day, just saying.
Driving without due care and attention
Insecure load
No ADR training
No plates showing what he was carrying
Which bit do you think is acceptable
Prison may be “a bit much” but if it goes anyway to getting people like him off the road then fair enough.
Would like to know which company he was driving for and whether they were investigated.
You Mr.perfect??
If you think any of that’s ok then with luck you’ll be taken off the roads soon as well.
Why do some people think driving like a knob is acceptable.
It’s bad enough having to share the roads with numptie car drivers, let’s not allow them in trucks as well.
As I’ve said before the sooner driving jobs are back to being seen as a skilled occupation the better, and every numptie that gets taken off the job is one step closer to employers actually having to pay attention to who they employ as a driver.

It would help to know wether he is an owner driver or an employed driver. Then assuming the latter was it a Lithuanian operator. In either case the best way to ‘get him off the road’ would have been to ban him from driving at least in this country while impounding the truck and flogging it which then also hits the operator.Especially assuming it was an unsuited driver employed by a cowboy east euro operation. While at the same time paying money for the clean up operation and not costing the tax payer to pointlessly keep the driver in the nick. While also taking account of the stated sick wife who’s now got all the worry of a uk imprisoned husband to add to her condition.

Guessing owner driver or they would have done that.
What is all the fuzz with foreign drivers, day after day I read angry posts against “them foreigners”?
It doesn’t matter what someone nationality is, what matters is his/her professionalism, driving skills, respect for the law. Clearly this driver didn’t have the above, not because he is Lithuanian, but because he is a crook.
I’m glad he is in jail, this could have been much worst.
no comments yet for this Europa driver…oh i forgot hes english…and whats with the knob referring to the old school got to do with it. Jailing this driver was a bit ott in my opinion…if it was an english driver i dont think the sentence would have been jail, more of a big fine.
I have noticed that there are a hell of a lot of foreign drivers who have run across the uk with hazardous goods, and without proper signs for on many occasions i have seen them collecting them from the ferry company, and placing them on their trailers, in dover in an easily removable way, so being because they take them off before leaving the ferry, in order not to be pulled by ``foreign` police.
