Prima Donna

haha go out and drive a truck then we all think we can drive one or its easy to be honest with your attitude on here no wonder you get grief? why is it all desk jockeys think drivers are thick as pig ■■■■?

i hate getting into someone else’s truck if its dirty as i come into work clean! i hate being told oh its a run to a,b,c only for the superior being behind the desk to say well i gave that run to my mate now your going to x,y,z.

actually no point getting into this as without drivers you wouldnt have a job end of!

Rikki-UK:
Some guys on the internet buy the T shirt, others earnt it - the ones who earnt’t it dont tend to be the ones who shout loud and hard about it

I know who I choose to listen too.

Sadly, I’m not young enough to know everything.

Harry Monk:
What you have to bear in mind is that somebody who passed his test five minutes ago is bound to know more about the industry than people who have been working in it for years.

Change the record old boy.

The length of time I’ve held my licence has no bearing whatsoever on my ability to make observations about people’s manners and poor attitudes.

Please keep on topic Harry. Your dementia is obviously getting worse, go and have a lie down.

SmashedCrabFace:

Fatboy slimslow:
…but they’ve probably been driving a lot longer than he who drives the DESK!

Looks like we’ve got our first diva.

I blame the parents.

Yawn! :unamused: I’ve only been doin it for 23 years pal! I’ve had my OWN truck in the nineties! Now that’s a HEADACHE! Hence I drive for someone where I do as I’m told! To an extent! My desk drivers are younger than me class one licence you fool and I’m not stupid either as I CHOOSE to drive my little artic for a living! I don’t speak unless i’m spoken to and I always say please and thank you as it costs nothing! As for my parents ( the egg and donor actually ) I blame them as well! I’ve not spoken to them since 1982 when I got back from the Falklands pal! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: I enjoy driving so I must be thick :exclamation:  :bulb:

For me it does, Knowing Harry’s history and what he has done garners a certain amount of respect from me, and as I am sure Harry himself will confirm we dont always agree, but as far as this industry goes he has got the T shirt in many areas and I will take sound advice from him.

Those have have earnt the T shirt dont tend to take fools lightly, dont take it personal, just most have learnt that those that shout loudest have the least to shout about

dont get annoyed chaps he has obviously got at least 4 gcse’s so therefore knows much much more about everything than any old thick lorry driver who has got out of bed at 3am to be arsed about by the ■■■ in the office :open_mouth: .

I thought prima Donna was that Italian bird other side of aosta on the right handside being a thick truck driver! :unamused: :exclamation:  :bulb: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: crack on to Macon! :sunglasses:

i love listening to our old hands, its starts out with t.o trying to give it the big one,you will do this, you will do that, but them old boys soon have them spotty kids on the back foot, soon have them scuttling back to the safety of there desks

For the benefit of all the thick as pig ■■■■ lorry drivers that struggle with the written word, I would just like to clarify that I am a driver and not an office monkey.

Prima donna is Italian for first lady and is often used to describe someone who behaves in a demanding, often temperamental fashion, revealing an inflated view of themselves, their talent, and their importance.

I hope this helps.

Yes, we know that, many of us have driven trucks to Italy.

I hope this helps.

What other industries did you try once you left school? No one said you drove a desk but as for my lack of ambition for driving a truck what did you think about whilst trying to achieve THAT ambition? Thought that might help! :grimacing: :grimacing:

thats an apt but crap CV for some on here - if the cap fits

fcs, i do agree with what you are saying. there are a lot of drivers that think they are the dogs wotsits. but there are office bods that are the same.
thats what life is like and what makes us all different.
but dont think for one minute that all drivers are the same, cos they aint.
i passed my hgv in 1973 and have done all sorts of driving jobs over them years.
i am still learning and will continue to learn. i do not know it all and wont know it all.
i always speak to people as i would like to be spoken to. but if some spotty face numpty gives me greif for no reason then i will let rip.

True.

I hope no Admins will abuse their powers by temporarily re-setting SmashedCrabFace’s status as “Just arrived but knows it all”.

Wow, I’m so impressed. :unamused:

Sounds loke you like blowing smoke up your own arse. What a ■■■■ u seem to be.Prob just an arse licker thats the only way to get further these days.Sad

I have always said the day I think I know it all, is the day I need to hang the truck keys on the peg and walk away from trucks.

I am willing to learn every day from young and old, if you’ve done something I havent or been somewhere I havent been I will listen, if your a loud mouth you doesnt accept that with experience comes knowledge, and knows better than everyone else, - then your opinion means nothing.

Respect is earned not granted, and I dont care if you have driven a 400 tonne wide load to China - if your a foul mouthed, obnoxious, full of themselves, know it all git I will ignore you.

There are people using this forum that have been to places and moved things that defy anything thatcan be called the norm, but because they have been there done it, they dont feel the need to make a fuss- search out for them and listen to them, and ignore the ones who shout loudest… because he who shouts loudest has probabaly done the least
