Hi everyone, Been living in the US for quite awhile now and just curious to what the price of fuel is now in the UK. Where I live in the US the price of gas(petrol) is $3.14 which = 1.95sterling per gallon. Diesel is $3.84 which = 2.38 sterling per gallon. Gave up truck driving back in 98.

Some areas gone down today to £1.33 for diesel and £1.27 for petrol ( or roughly that price per litre )
£1.33 a litre of unleaded X 4.54 for a gallon thanks for the war on terror
we’ve got to spend many pennies fighting wars on behalf of trigger happy yanks who can’t fire straight!
Hi Smoggie89, I take that its per litre and not gallon
ray
Roughly works out to be £5.77 a Gallon which is about $9.77 a gallon for petrol
We in the UK also have the larger gallon
wow , how prices have rocketed in 6 years
Now you know why we are all so happy over here !!
Britain is the fanny off all countries lol
yes the US gallon is smaller than the imperial(UK) gallon
Then you need to add the cost of Insurance, tax, MOT etc etc…especially if you have anything over 1.6L ah the joys of motoring !!
Talking of insurance just before I left the UK I paid 135 pounds for full comp ins on a Focus and now over here I pay $650 =403 pounds for the same for two cars, one pt cruiser and a ford Taurus(big 3.0L dohc v6) which gets better mpg than the cruiser

I pay £180 fully comp for a 3 year old Ford Mondeo 2L TDCi. It was actually cheaper to insure than the 6 year old MK3 Mondeo it replaced despite being worth three times as much. Came as quite a surprise.
Hiya… flyer 747…you pay no road TAX do you, the insurance cover,s that. if you run a large engine(range rover)
which are not gas guzzlers any more the road tax can be up to £425 a year. then again if you run a Toyota Yaris
the tax is only a few pounds. then we pay £8 per day to go into the London city area. if you go inside the M25
without a Euro 4,5,or6(low emission diesel lorry)its £300 per day. if you drive in on a monday park up all week
then run out friday you still have to pay for 5 days even though you’ve been stud still. wow we live in GREAT BRITAIN.
remember when it was windy on the dartford crossing you used to nip down the M11 under the black wall and off
down the A2… no chance if your not euro 4 5 or 6 you sit in a queue that reaches round to Heathrow, you make no emmisions if your on the motorway stop start stop start all the time.
se ya have a nice day

Hi 3300 John, no we don,t pay a road tax as such but we have to renew our tag (licence) plates every year, as our vehicle plates are transferable vehicle to vehicle not like in UK fixed to the car .Also where I live there is no MOT inspection just an emissions test but other states over here do have a reall good and hard full vehicle inpection.
We pay roughly 3 times more for car fuel over here than you do over there. Most of that is tax though as our government is skint.
