Do any of you read through your previous posts from months or years back and contrary to your belief that during a heated debate or argument you hit out with all the right comments and phrases and put your opponent away with some killer blows, what you actually did was make a ■■■ of yourself?
Just wondering if anyone else regrets things theyve posted in the past.
I’ve just re-read some of mine and it seems ive been misremembering how they went! 
It’s not just you. I’ve done it (on other forums). Memories change with time. That’s why eyewitness testimonies are so unreliable.
The best faux pas from posters are usually the ones posted at beer O’clock.
And no I haven’t looked back due to having several thousand posts it would take ages to reread
I don’t read back posts on forums, it would remind me how much of an argumentative cow I can be
A bit of hindsight eh, i’ll have a pint of that please barman.
I doubt there’s anyone alive apart from the perfect who doesn’t wish they could turn the clock back, and if not actually start again from scratch, was able to say or do things differently.
Imagine though if someone persuaded you to stand for election in some way, and as would happen if you are one who does not read from the current hymnsheet and became a success, those out to get you started putting your entire life under the microscope 
The internet has been a wonderful invention, but if you have an opinion and are prepared to voice it, the likelihood of it coming back to bite you in the arse in time when the thought police are judging from an entirely different book of hymns, is almost guaranteed.
There’s a few that would start a debate with their own shadow just to walk away believing they are correct

I’ve had a few minor forum based rucks with a couple of the more intelligent ones on here, which is just a bit of fun, the likes of Jake and UK tramp…or are they one and the same. 
I don’t mind that, at least it’s grown up conversation.
Not including those 2 btw (or 1 
) …But the thing is I seem to have this dubious talent of attracting bell ends on here for some unknown reason, they seem to make a bee line for me 
I can think of 3 off hand (no names, they will know who they are )
I should really just ignore em, but my lifelong intolerance to d/heads, (in real life) paired up with the fact I have to have my say and just can’t keep my ■■■■ gob shut , forces me to respond, …but I know I shouldn’t as it just encourages em.

I try and avoid getting into debates, if someone is trying to get me into an argument, I’ll just walk away from it, but it does make me cringe, some of the stuff I’ve posted!
