We’re allowed 15 mins and I take it, I think I’m the only one in the morning who opens up the bonnet to check coolant level and top up windscreen washer fluid.
The law is the law so we all have to obey,I dont see how it takes 15 minutes for a simple 7.5 tonner obviously if you have a tanker or car transporter it takes longer.
Probably don’t spend 15 mins checking over unit but what I should of said was I show 15 mins work before moving off to find me trailer.

Wonder why if vosa can mot a trailer in13 minutes why do we have to do a 15 minute walk roundthat would be very useful to use if there was a court case.
“case dismissed”
It only leaves you 2 minutes to do the tractor and check the coupling though

and how long do you spend checking that over?
IMO if you drive the same unit every day, you know pretty much what to expect when you start on a morning. If you’re swapping trailers, that’s where the proper checks start.

Agree. I do 15 with my own lorry on a Monday, then 10 the rest of the week as nobody else drives it. If it’s someone elses’ lorry I’ll do/show 15 minutes for the first day as I’m less familiar with it.
i had the missfortune of sitting next to a bulls hitter the other day this is what he told me before i told him i was sick of hearing him

nothing in your windscreen apart from tax disc and o licence or its a gv9,
you must wear your hi vis while driving,
cb radios are banned,
you must drive in safety boots,
