The “Autohof” truck drivers talk again

Don’t think so, bonny lad.
Was just relating what happened to me when I was pulled in Pardubice a couple of months ago

so who did you kill?

the worst and only fine Ive ever received in cz was €40 for driving with foglights on 5km after the fog ended, that was two years ago, havent paid it still, dont think I will

like the above said, the road tax is now a box you have to buy at the border, i think they are pre pay unless your company has an account? (someone will probably know better), where are you doing in the town? can you not park there for the duration of the gig?

Dont know the exact location until i pick the lorry up tomorrow morning -
forward planning eh !!

probably too late but if your going to the telser arena (where we are today), there is only 1 way in by truck which is follow the ring road round to the west (e55) until you get to the big tescos, as soon as your there you have to turn left towards the centrum, from there its a little complex, but any other route in will lead you to either a low bridge or a weight limit

Thanks to all for the advice.
Got back Sat pm and had a realatively trouble free trip. It wasnt a concert as such but a conference at the Prague Hilton in the city centre overlooking the river. Tipped Sun morning, reloaded Wed night and left early Thurs :sunglasses:
Only problems i had was getting vingette, cant get it in Transmark or at the old Elf (now Total) any more - ended up getting it at Veurne truckstop - how does that work?
because that means youve crossed the border without it !!
Managed to suss the Maut machine at Aachen(eventually) It calculated the distance to Widhaus as 599.5 km, German effeciency or what? and no queues at Czech border, also no need for snowchains, which was fortunate as i wasnt carrying any
Getting road tax for Czech, consisted of taking vehicle log book to office and getting a box to put in screen which cost the equivalant of 130 Euros, got 40 euros refund when handing box back on the way home(didnt tell the boss that)
Bit of a mare getting into city centre as every road in seemed to have 3:8m height limit or 6t weight limit but eventually went under tram cables in a 4:1m truck
Done the tourist bit for a couple of days - large beer 24 cz koruna(70p)
All in all a good trip and i would happily go back to European work ,given the chance and its nice to see that some things dont change as there is still a distinct whiff of “bull” “■■■■” in the drivers restuarant on the ferries
Took a few pics and will try to get them on soon

you can get your vignette on the norfolk line boat if you ship that way, just remember to take your fuel card on board (unlike i did when i shipped over last  ) you can get it at jabbeke now, but pretty much nowhere else, as my mate found out when his driver sailed by jabekke, and couldnt get it, 30kms from the border they got nicked!!!

the only place i know where you can get a vignette now in calais is at the ids filling station off diesel alley if that helps anyone or failing that get it at ahford truckstop or at eurotunnel before you ship out.
