Working on the HSF Market Job, I was forced to take my vehicle to a site in Bedworth to have my Mercedes unit serviced.
Pulled up noticed Scania 730, Volvo 750 all top of the range kit, absolutely immaculate, any driver would like to drive one of those vehicles. So naturally I thought the facilities shower room etc., for the drivers must be good here. But why on earth did I think that!!. The shower was caked with black mould everywhere, pain peeling off the ceiling, and certainly no heating in there either.
I am sure in the big scheme of things the cost for cleaning up that shower is minute compared to the cost of some of the whistle and bells they run on their fancy kit. Happy clean drivers are an asset to any company!
Now I am not often forced to put pen to paper or even fingers to keyboard but I am sure something like this would easily break half a dozen or more health and safety regulations, why do firms think the driver has no worth, and can treat them this way.
Rant over but still annoyed, and looking for a shower close by!!
Isnt this one for mumsnet, only real men here - well apart from the women but they would give the menfolk a run for their money. Shower with mold is bloomin luxury, I copped for one the other day when i was sloppy seconds after some bloke had done a tommy tank in it, ■■■■ all over me feet (not for the first time to be fair).
Seriously though welcome to trucknet and there are some shocking showers out there, sure we where going to do a rogues gallery thread of em once upon a time wiv pictures.
Well maybe for Mumsnet!!! But I live in hope that someone may pass it on to those who have not been directly named and shamed and that they may do something about it.
Just because we do what we do for a living does not mean that we should be treated as second class citizens.

I thought drivers were a liability to most haulage companies:lol:
ACS+T in Wolverhampton will take some beating on being the worst I’ve seen, not fit to wash your dog in them.
All 4 Trucks truck stop has some mouldy showers, and they stink of it too,
Not showers, but I can never get my head around the toilets @Allports in Fradley, a main Renault dealer. It’s all posh as you walk into reception, but if you need to use the karzee, it’s like walking into a deralict building
From memory however, I don’t think Allports in Stoke is much better, though it’s been a while since I last visited there.
You can be sure, it isn´t better in Stoke. I´ve been there two weeks ago…
