I never read anything about Ocado drivers on here… Didn’t they take over Booker?
I used to run into Hatfield Airport estate for both RM and Yodel years ago, and I noticed there was a really f… 0ff Booker yard at the very end of the estate, that looked pretty busy, and I remember wondering what the T&C would be like there, somewhere big I’d never worked even for a single shift agency, - and still haven’t years later…
If the industry is being pushed to cut everything to the bone so all we drivers end up on worse pay, and the worst actual working environment - then we workers have a simple “make the best of a bad job” option:-
Work for the firms that treat you with respect @ NMW
or
Run around with some agency with a different assignment literally every week or day even,
or
Hang your keys up, and take your pension early, whilst it is still there to be taken at all, as I reckon “Final Salary Pension Default” is next on this Government’s wish list.
If it is a race to the bottom we’re in - then at least let’s have our own definition of “bottom”, rather than the firms dictate that it will be their version, akin to the bottom of a bird cage, no doubt.
